Abraham Maslow majored in Psychology whilst studying at College or university of Wisconsin. His major goal was social usefulness and functionality, thus he decided to approach the emotional research within a much different way (Emrich, " Abraham Maslow”). As a mindset professor in Brooklyn College, Maslow tried to understand and explain almost all human motivation by combining existing approaches to motivations, such as Freudian, Adlerian, behaviorist, and cognitive-gestalt into one unique theory.

In 1932 a biologist named Walter Cannon in the work named Self-regulation in Animals came up with the term homeostasis which was the modern word pertaining to biological self-regulation (Hagen 96). According into a french psychologist Claude Bernard, by whom Cannon was influenced, a great organism was performed up of two environments, getting external and internal, and described big difference between them ( Hagen 96). He concluded that internal environment was " a buffer between living cells and fluctuating exterior environment” (Hagen 96). Maslow was disappointed with Cannon's idea about how exactly organisms well balanced themselves. There were several other theories that moved Maslow for even more research in the work related to a new procedure of how microorganisms worked.

Since George A. Luz, Research Psychologist for Luz Cultural and Environmental Associates, describes: " Disappointed with the idea of American educational psychology which the end goal from the organism is usually homeostasis and also Freud's strategy that the end goal of psychiatric therapy is the image resolution of neurotic symptoms, Maslow argued that human beings function out of what this individual termed an inborn pecking order of needs” (1). Maslow's approach toward the psychology was not exactly like of previous psychologists and researches. He argued that rather than focusing on negative factors of creatures and researching mentally sick or handicapped, psychology must be centered on humanistic approach and study positive outliers of society. Consequently, Maslow was an initiator that opened up a whole new sphere of studying psychology in a confident and humanistic approach. There are lots of key concepts related to Maslow's ranking of human inspiration needs.
